John P. Wiley (1860-1931) was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and died in
Medford, Massachusetts. He married Frances E. Wiley (b. Davies). They lived in Boston
and later moved to Medford around 1924. Wiley served as a captain in the Massachusetts
National Guard. After his military career, he worked for The New England News Company, a
book and magazine distributor, for many years. It was in the service of this company
that Wiley ordered copies of
Science and Health with Key to the
Scriptures. Wiley was a member of the Royal Arcanum.
