H. Cornell Wilson (1875-1916) was born in East Saginaw, Michigan, and died in Brookline, Massachusetts. He graduated from the Michigan Military Academy and in 1898 married Marcia Bliss Wilson (b. Bliss) in Washington, District of Columbia. They settled in New York, New York. Wilson studied Christian Science with Mary Baker Eddy's student Laura V. Lathrop in New York. He and his wife both joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 3, 1899, and both were listed as practitioners in The Christian Science Journal, he from 1903 to 1914 and his wife from 1903 to 1905. Wilson was also a member of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, New York, New York. He served as the Committee on Publication for the State of New York from 1905 to 1907, and from March to September 1907 he served as one of Eddy's secretaries in her Pleasant View home in Concord, New Hampshire. Thereafter, Wilson moved to Washington, D.C., where he served a term as First Reader of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Washington, D.C. He then served one more year as Committee on Publication for New York, in 1913, before being appointed First Reader of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1914.
