Edgar S. Woodbury (1851-1889) was born in Danvers, Massachusetts, and
died in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, studying with her
in May 1880. He joined the Christian Scientist Association in June 1880 and was also a
charter member of the Massachusetts Metaphysical College, serving on its first Board of
Directors. He was active in the business of the Association and the College until
January 1882 when he resigned from his position at the College because of other business
commitments.
