James H. Woodruff (1836-1884) was born in Worthington, Ohio, and died in Chicago, Illinois. He was the husband of Rucia A. Woodruff, who received Christian Science treatment through prayer from Martha E. Sherman, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's. There is no record of James H. Woodruff studying with Eddy or uniting with the Church of Christ (Scientist).
