Beloved Mother.

As you inquired through Mr. Joseph Mann yesterday by telephone the standing of those persons since the action of the First. Members whereby they were placed on probation was repealed, I will make a report directly to you.

Yesterday the Directors and First Reader met and instructed the clerk to send notices of which the following is a copy.

Boston, Mass May, 1900.

Mr. ..............

Dear Brother.

You are hereby notified that at a meeting of the First Members held April 23, 1900. the vote of a former meeting of said body whereby you were placed on probation was rescinded.

This action places you in the same position that you occupied before any action was taken by the First Members.

-----------------------

To the person named first on the list of those who made the complaints, a notice like the following was sent.

Dear ................

You are hereby notified that at a meeting of the First Members held April 23, 1900, the vote of a former meeting of said body whereby Mr. ............. was placed on probation was rescinded.

This action places Mr. ........... in the same position that he occupied before any action was taken by the First Members.

Beloved Mother.

The notices were sent to

Dr. Sawyer,

Mr. Filbert,

Mrs. Filbert,

Mrs. Graybill, and

Mrs. Kate S Corning who was placed on probation at the same time that As Written: tha Mrs. Graybill was.

Now the Directors and First Reader wish to know if the vote to repeal the action whereby these persons were placed on probation is to dismiss the charges entirely and nothing more be done with them, or, was it the intention simply to repeal the action of the First Member and now have the Directors and First Reader examine the complaints and the rebutting testimony.

Will you kindly let us know if any further action shall be taken I will send this at my first opportunity by messenger.

Lovingly your Student.
William B Johnson C. S. B.

The Directors are glad to get the word to dismiss all complaints – the underline is mine – We believe this will do much zeal. and We shall not have these skeletons haunting us.

The slate will be wiped clean and may we hope that it will be kept so. I think all evidence of these miserable dreams should be destroyed.
