Editorial Note: Doane seems to be responding to a recent letter from Clara E. Choate (not extant).
He writes that he is improving and every day seeing changes for the better. He says
that he is reading her book, likely a copy of Mary Baker Eddy's Science and Health, with much interest. He also says it takes time to get the right meanings from the
book, but when he understands an idea, it is closer to his own idea of religion than
anything else. He writes that he hopes to see Choate by next Friday.
