I do not understand some recent eventsEditorial Note: This is likely a reference to challenges related to the libel suit against Mary Baker Eddy by Josephine Curtis Woodbury. The case was concluded in Eddy's favor on June 1, 1901., but perhaps I may sometimeAs Written:some time. At present they are inexplicable. If suffering purges, Mrs Hanna and I ought to be pretty well purged. I am glad Mr. Kimball is hereEditorial Note: On January 17, 1901, Mary Baker Eddy requested that Edward A. Kimball assist in representing her in the Woodbury suit. See L00267.. We need his fresh, strong thought, and I hope he will remain until it is over. He is not fagged out as are the rest of us.

In the meantimeAs Written:mean time we shall endeavor to take a fresh start, and be in at the finish.

I see also a strong need of greater reliance on the Gospel and less on human law for success in the caseEditorial Note: This is a reference to a libel suit against Mary Baker Eddy by Josephine Curtis Woodbury. The suit was filed on July 31, 1899 and concluded in Eddy's favor on June 5, 1901..
