I pause as I try to consider why or what I should write to you in regard to myself; yet I feel more like coming to you in adversity, than I would to be vain with any success that I might seem to have. I have a few patients that I am treating with some success, and they are considered difficult cases, and one of them has a belief of ruptureEditorial Note: hernia that I feel anxious about and it tries me to the very core, would that some angel thought might hover about me, to clear up my nothingness of doubt and fear. I am doing the best I can and if I make some failures I know I must bear the shame. I have some sad hours, but I know that God is good, and I am trying to get more of the spirit of His Love which I need so much.

My wife has a few cases that she is treating as well as she can.

We are not discouraged but feel the need of a better spiritual understanding of God, I have a patient at Woodsville New HampshireAs Written:N.H.Seth P. Stickney – who would like the Books Science and HealthEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy., so I send you the money and you will please send the books to him at Woodsville. I know you will think of us kindly, though we may need rebukes, as we are making a struggle for the living realities of your teachings
