My precious Leader

Your letterEditorial Note: See L09589. asking me to send you a "good plain cook, not less than fifty years of age, and plain looking", was indeed a problem for me. I knew I could do it, since you never require me to do more than I should be able to demonstrate. I send you on Tuesday, surely on Wednesday, one of my dear faithful students, of many years, a most loving faithful follower of her beloved Leader, a meek & humble disciple, whose joy it will be to serve you, and your household. I know of no other in our church, who could meet these requirements. I believe she can. You can return her if she does not. Her name is Mrs Sarah Lester

You refer in your letter to the argument you read in mortal mind I have been following my Leader, who teaches me that "Life demonstrates As Written: demonstrats life". I have believed implicitly in your inspired words; and knowing that you believe in Life Truth & Life - (understand) I am convinced you can never cease to exist, be manifest to all who rise to spiritual sight. The claim of age is but a belief and as you wrote in the first edition of S & HEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.– "the hoary error must be met, in time or eternity. The aged are not old, when the veil lifts, and sense gives place to Soul". The mist of belief must be dissolved by Truth & Love, or we shall continue to look through the lens of birth growth age & decay. I am sure we shall be delivered from the veil which is over our eyes, here & now if we demonstrate what you have taught us. If I thought you could not demonstrate life eternal I would have no courage to go on. If I thought you would ever cease to lead me, I would be utterly hopeless. If I thought there would come an hour when I could not near you, mentally, or see you through the veil of flesh, as spiritual substance idea, I could not press forward. But I have no fear - no doubt. You never were in matter You never can be found in false substance. You will always walk with your own & those who love divinely will trust and wait until material sense gives place to spiritual sight, and Love reveals Her precious idea. "Let the dead bury their dead-Matt 8:22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead. Luke 9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. " Your faithful students will follow you, for they know in whom they have believedII Tim 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. . The evil one pursues all who refuse to believe in its claims to matter, as sentient substance. But there is no evil, since Good is all, & we know you have taught us its powerlessness. Your would-be-successor will have a hard time, in attempting to put a head, on a body which has not been decapitated; but whose only Head is eternal. How pitiful are all the efforts of the belief of life in matter Blessed Leader I am rejoicing in the light which reveals you as my forever & forever & eternal Leader. In your letterEditorial Note: See H00109. of today you say, you are going to publish my letter. This will meet the lie, freely circulated, that I am very ill, with other statements, that you are praying to save me from my sins, but have decided it is impossible. I hope this letter may appear in the Journal, which is housed & preserved, that for the future, all who read may know that I am grateful & loyal & am demonstrating life according to your teachings. But you know best.
