Dear Mrs. Eddy.

One of my patients is in New York and is very anxious to see and talk with you- so has invited Mrs. Smith– (my sister) to go with her to Boston, next week. for that purpose. I told Mrs. Smith to write and learn when you could see themEditorial Note: See 712aP2.85.016.. or they might be disappointed in meeting you at all- so you have, I presume, received her letter- I hope you will see them, if possible, for I think you will agree with me that they are worth the effort– that what you say is seed sown in good soilMatt 13:23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. - This is the sister who, I hope, will soon study with you- and I trust she will be an apt student- I have another sister whom I hope to send to you by As Written: bye and byAs Written:bye. They are both so honest, and so earnest to do all the good they can, that I am anxious to have them learn this great truthEditorial Note: Christian Science-

I often think of our class and feel that by far the majority will do well- and hope that all may- though some were decidedly clearer in understanding than others-

I have three patients here, who were anxious to see me and I remain about three days- They feel the need here of a Christian Scientist- but feel that they could not have entire confidence in a stranger- Not knowing just as much as I do now- I recommended Mrs. Hale- to take charge of a case I could not take and her m ode of so doing, impressed upon their mind the belief that all Scientists were not Christian- Poor Mrs. Hale! It seems utterly impossible for her to have the least understanding- of the command, "Be wise as serpents"Matt 10:16 ¶Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. It seems as if every act of her life has shown it.

I expect to leave for RochesterEditorial Note: Rochester, New York Thursday- Rochester is a beautiful city- but I do not like KingstonEditorial Note: Kingston, New York- so well- I will write to you when I get located-

With love, yours gratefully
