Yesterday I was made the recipient As Written: recepient of a Beautiful As Written: Beautifull letterEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. from my Dear Sister Mary of Lynn, Author of a WonderfulAs Written:Wounderfull Book, Called Science & HealthEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, a Metaphysical Book, making strange statementsAs Written:statments, causing poor Bodies to cringe & writhe As Written: writh with sledgehammerAs Written:sledge hammer Blows Stupefying poor innocent creatures As Written: Creaturs so they hardly know whether As Written: whither they are in the dear old Body, or out of it. And when they are about recovering themselves from their stuporAs Written:stuper, They find themselves out of the frying Pan into the fire, down comes the Metaphysical sword, cutting & slashing, Pricking to the right of us - Pricking to the left of us. there is no part we can touch but we find wounded, Yes I say Wounded, from the "Crown of the head to the sole of the foot", we are all bruised & sore". "Oh, Mary Baker, you are an Acher, Maker - And who is going to Pay the fiddler, to this dance of the destruction of Matter? Metaphysical Science Sir, Oh", is it, Then let it do its work - If it is of God it will stand. If not of God, it will be rooted up & cast into the OvenActs 5:38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: Acts 5:39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. Matt 3:10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
