Dear Teacher:

They were pleasant meetings– those were precious hours, when Life, Truth and Love uttered their inspirations with a woman's voice– through a form transfigured with earnestness–flooding that little parlor with the atmosphere of heaven. We reasoned, we counseled, we chatted, we studied, and there were friends and music. Where are those hours going? Into the dead Past to perish with the Autumn leaves? or, may we not hope into the living Future to increase and perpetuate the harmonies of life?

Be it so!

With few exceptions I have enjoyed good health from my "youth upward" and anticipate rather than experience physical benefits from Christian ScienceAs Written:"Science" but I can say with pleasure, that your metaphysics, your lessons, your society have made me twenty percent As Written: per cent richer spiritually– I feel that much purer, nobler, better.

Mrs Eddy, you have my best wishes– my deepest gratitude; for your interest in me has been kindly, genuine, unselfish and I trust that my friendship will be worthy, time-proof and (excuse me) devil-proof. Nor shall I forget or ignore the silent or spoken, the firm, faithful, wise, honorable influence of your companion, for how could I possibly have been Eddified without him?

Now, why should I say Goodbye As Written: Good bye (God be with you) for He is always with you.

Sincerely, Truly,
James Ackland
