Editorial Title: Silas J. Sawyer to Mary Baker Eddy, November 26, 1883
Author: Silas J. Sawyer
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: November 26, 1883
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Silas J. Sawyer on the lined printed stationery of his dental practice from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Editorial Note: This letter revolves around a proposed visit by Clara E. Choate to the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Chicago, Illinois, areas. Sawyer writes that Jennie Harvey told Choate that Fannie M. Silsbee was not practicing Christian Science correctly and that Silsbee and Sawyer were keeping people away from Christian Science. Furthermore, Harvey said that Silsbee was primarily seeking money in her practice and that Harvey hoped that Choate would put a stop to all this when she came. Sawyer denies these claims to Eddy and hopes that Choate's visit might be postponed until she can come under more harmonious circumstances. He also mentions that he has enclosed a "letter of introduction," written by George C. Klepser (probably 554.58.012.), which he hopes will bring his letter more quickly to Eddy's attention.
