Accession: 243.39.009
Editorial Title: Arthur T. Buswell to Mary Baker Eddy, August 10, 1881
Author: Arthur T. Buswell
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: August 10, 1881
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Arthur T. Buswell on stationery from the Central Office of the Board of Associated Charities of Cincinnati and sent from Cincinnati, Ohio.
Editorial Note: Buswell writes to Eddy regarding the upcoming convention for the Society for the Advancement of Science, which will be taking place over several days in Cincinnati. He believes that Christian Science should be represented, perhaps in the department of anthropology, and suggests that Eddy attend as a delegate. He mentions that train fares are currently surprisingly low, and he thinks that both Eddy and Dr. Eddy should come. In the top corner of the letter, he mentions that he has recently given Rev. Mitchell of Cincinnati, formerly of Lynn, a letter of introduction to Eddy.

Dear Mrs. Eddy:

Do you know the Society for the Advancement of Science convenes in this City on the 17th inst. to remain in session several days? Should not Christian Science be represented (in the department of "Anthropology," perhaps)? Should you not be a delegate. Western R.R. rates are surprisingly low now, on account of the "R.R. war." Now let our Society appoint you a delegate, and you and Dr. Eddy come, if possible.

Cordially,
A. T. Buswell
