Author: Alfred Lang
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: August 30, 1883
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Alfred Lang on embossed lined paper from Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Lang is replying to a letter (not extant) from Mary Baker Eddy dated August 14, 1883. He has just returned home from spending time in the mountains of his native state of New Hampshire. He hopes Eddy will come to visit, perhaps in October. Lang speaks of the blessings and challenges of living Christian Science and of the negative effects he experienced while in New Hampshire from associating with materialistic unbelievers in Christian Science. He also states that he was very disturbed at Eddy's condition the last time he saw her in person, but he has faith that she will rise above it. He wants to support Eddy in her lawsuit, Eddy v. Arens.
