I returned from Fox LakeEditorial Note: Fox Lake, Illinois and found your dear letterEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. awaiting me last evening, which I warmly greeted with love and friendship. may it ever extend through the entire Journey of this dream of life and be consummated in our Spiritual existence As Written: existance .

Your good work in Christian Science has brought us together and often I would like to come to you and unfold my earnest feelings in regard to many things being done since you were in ChicagoEditorial Note: Mary Baker Eddy taught a class in Chicago, Illinois in May 1884.. There are some calling themselves Metaphysicians and mental healing and call it Christian Science. The extent of which is fearful to contemplate.

In the present disjointed and imperfect understanding of many I do think my dear teacher it is almost impossible to make them all harmonious. Truth having failed to reach many. there is such an atmosphere of discord and confusion here. It would not be desirable As Written: desireable for anyone As Written:any one to attempt to bring order out of chaos and yet it is a sweet pleasure in giving all our energies out to those who are willing to receive the truth. I cannot As Written: can not but worship the highest Souls and also the true and good.

But to cast pearls before swineMatt 7:6 ¶Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. I think produces discord. and also to mingle with the base and malicious. your divine ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science is a perfect myth to many such here. after your faithful and earnest labors

Now my dear loved Teacher I have frankly told you just how I feel; with much pleasure we receive all who would like to come at the House and aid to the best of our ability

But there are some we do not care to associate with therefore could not join the association here if formed If I could see your dear self could tell you many things that never escapes our lips

I have intended to call on Mrs Dr H for a long time Shall do so at my earliest As Written: earlest convenience

You well know dear teacher we Shall do all we can for you and the causeEditorial Note: The cause of Christian Science. My entire Family are your earnest advocates and will ever defend you against all foes

Mr Sherman thinks very favorable of your suggestion of taking instruction as a teacher; of you He intends to do so as soon as convenient As Written: conveinent

Please do not forget me when you have some Pictures taken. I do want one of you very much. I love to hear from you so much if only a line

the family all send the kindest remembrances and the best of wishes

Miss Platt send love, and loving remembrances of the days when you were with usEditorial Note: Mary Baker Eddy taught a class in Chicago, Illinois in May 1884. which I hope will return and we shall all meet many times together again. we are all well and try to do all the good we can. and bless you for the great good you have done

With lots of love and a kiss

Yours lovingly
