I am not in the least offended, I believe you are honest, but I know you are mistaken. Time will reveal to you that I am neither a dissenter nor a dissembler. I have not sacrificed in vain. The papers you sent me, I thank you for, but have read them all. The "Omaha Bee" had been sent me by Brockwell with whom I correspond. I take the "Christian Science Journal" and keep up with every movement. Your eyes will be opened before long. You don't know Mrs. Eddy. You will thank me yet for my seeming dissension.

Superficial shams and gross wrongs can't always go uncovered. The veiled prophet cannot always lure to destruction. I have no word against you and all honest beguiled men like you, but I must defend the truth even if it brings you censure. Mrs Eddy is not a philosopher and she knows very little about theology and that dogma that she insisted on in the class is damnable. If I believed As Written: beleived that, I would cast the Bible in the fire and turn anarchist. Mr Gill does not believe As Written: beleive that nor never will, and I say that anybody that does believe cannot be consistent As Written: consistant and believe all or any part of the gospel. The idea of putting everybody down as fools and hypocrites who do not accept the dogmas of a superficial woman whose fanaticism hardly outrivals her impostures is too vile to last a decade among thinking people. That curriculum is a disgrace. You are under the spell as I was, but thank God I am now a free man. They tempted me and because I was too honest to accept their offer. I was condemned. Oh sir! you will hear the thunder speak by and by. God is just as well as generous. I do not care to pick your letterEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. to pieces. I am Yours truly
