Accession: 352.48.002
Editorial Title: Abigail Tilton to Mary Baker Eddy, February 5, 1877
Author: Abigail Tilton
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: February 5, 1877
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Abigail Tilton on lined paper with envelope.
Archival Note: Tilton has addressed the envelope to "Mrs. Gilbert A. Eddy." (His name was Asa Gilbert Eddy.)
Editorial Note: Abigail Tilton says she was ill when she received her sister Mary Baker Eddy's marriage announcement. She is surprised that Eddy has made such a change in her life as it appeared to Tilton that Eddy was very much enjoying her "solitude." But Tilton then says that the essence of life is change and that, perhaps as a result of the marriage, the river of Eddy's life will flow more outward. Tilton concludes by wishing Eddy happiness for the rest of her earthly life and joy in the hereafter when her life's work is done.
