Accession: 361.48.014
Editorial Title: John M. C. Murphy to Mary Baker Eddy, April 18, 1883
Author: John M. C. Murphy
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: April 18, 1883
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by John M. C. Murphy on his printed Hatter and Gent' Furnisher store stationery, from East Boston, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Murphy writes to confirm what Mary Baker Eddy has told him -- that she will give him a discount of $100.00 ($2,611.76 in 2016) for class instruction with her. So instead of $300.00 ($7,835.27 in 2016), Murphy will pay $200 ($5,223.51 in 2016). He wants to know when the class will begin and suggests that if Julia S. Bartlett comes to East Boston to his store, she can give him further details. He does not want anyone in East Boston to know of his plans to study with Eddy until his wife, Eldora E. Murphy, is healed.
