Dearly Beloved Teacher:

I wrote you a few hasty lines from WilliamsportEditorial Note: Williamsport, Pennsylvania and now I have to write you again. I expect to be home this evening.

Dear Teacher; this question is ever before me when I see so many suffering in the Dream of life in matter – of substance in nothing – of pleasure in fleeting shadows – if God so clothes the lilies As Written: lillies will he not care for us?

And have we not a right to Life Truth and Love? and is it only ignorance that keeps us from possession As Written: posession of our rightful heritage? Oh for the full awakening from this Dream!

Surly the dawn is now breaking when the angels shall sing “Peace on earth and good will to men.”Luke 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. Luke 2:9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. Luke 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. Luke 2:13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Let us hasten and herald the glad tidings so that a God – spell shall be upon all the people instead of the Mal - spell.

Oh that I may even be in that child – condition of spirit that I may accept the sunshine of Truth, even as a little childMatt 18:1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? Matt 18:2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, Matt 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matt 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Mark 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. Luke 18:17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein. .

Dear Teacher = I do so feel the desire to see you enjoying that quiet of Spirit and wish you are by virtue of your labors so fully entitled to –

I do so want to see you occupy that position where you may “break the circuit” “where the wicked shall cease from troubling”Job 3:17 There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.

I profoundly feel this – I hope and pray that I, ever I, may say “Peace be stillMark 4:35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. Mark 4:36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. Mark 4:37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. Mark 4:38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? Mark 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Mark 4:40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? Mark 4:41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him? to the troubled waters.

During my stay in Boston, I have had a deep insight into the Tactics of the Enemy but, Wisdom Love and Truth, will conquer.

Will you remember me with much love to all? all of the household of faith who are so close to you – I will write Mrs. Hopkins soon after I arrive home.

It is getting late, so, With bushels and bushels of Love like angels have, I will close this, I fear, scrambling letter.

Ever affectionately As Written: affectionally thine.
Eldridge J Smith

P.S. Will you remember me especially to that interesting musical and intellectual phenomena, Miss Proctor? She has within the compass of her Spirit that which would make music for a world. She is at present as a little bird beating its wing against the bars of a cage.

Goodness grant that she may be made free as Christ – Truth Science, makes free.

Thine Eldridge J. Smith
