Since visiting you on the 26 inst with my cousin, Mr. Seaver, I have still thought well of the great Work which you are handling so admirably, and in addition have had the desire to make it a study, although it will be at a disadvantage to me in more ways than one, and a move and undertaking that many would of course think foolish and absurd, but not to tire you with too lengthy a letter, I will ask, would you be kind enough to accept Thirty-five dollars (35.00)Editorial Note: $35.00 in 1883 is the equivalent of $1,014.15 in 2022. down and trust to my honesty and good luck for the balance 65.00Editorial Note: $65.00 in 1883 is the equivalent of $1,883.43 in 2022.. Now you can no – doubt judge something what success I would have as a metaphysician, (I myself already having great confidence in my powers, after being under your valuable instructions) and you can also judge by my Physiognomy whether or not I would do as I should agree providing it was in my power, and I do believe (perhaps you may begin to think I am an easy subject) that you not only make physicians but also make Goodness, a person according to my idea and feeling must necessarily become so attached to the work that he could not fail to do what was right in such a case, and I believe I would find it easy enough to do it, and perhaps more.

I should push it. I have (as I have been told) valuable ideas of advertising, am also a printer by trade, which would be of great advantage to me.

I believe I can be successful, providing others are, and should I be successful there will be no difficulty in paying you the balance asked. It is going to be expensive for me to go through with it, otherwise than the very small fee asked me by you, and I have to put this through myself as you know it would be hard to find, those in the dark, who would ever encourage it. I have a wife and two little onesEditorial Note: Grace Dorman and Mabel Dorman to take care of and when I stop work, (as I will have to, to learn this) then you know the rest, as I depend on my everyday As Written: every day labors for an existence.

This of course is strictly confidential, and I believe if the Work, the study, is just what it seems, I can easily pay you the balance due, and perhaps more, at least be of service to you ot herwise than the fee.

If you will accommodate me with these terms I will be at your next class if nothing happens. I send you my photo that you can have some idea who is asking the favor, the same you can return to me when I come down, Unless you might wish to keep it, After being better acquainted, I also send enclosed three dollars (3.00)Editorial Note: $3.00 in 1883 is the equivalent of $86.93 in 2022. for your two volumsEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, which I will in the meantime study, to the best of my understanding.

You will please forward books by Express or mail as is your custom, also let me know if I can come on these terms, and if I can I will be making arrangements accordingly, also please let me know what date the class is to commence, by so doing you will confer a favor and very much oblige
