Accession: 506.56.007
Editorial Title: Hosea E. Stone to Mary Baker Eddy, October 6, 1883
Author: Hosea E. Stone
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: October 6, 1883
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Hosea E. Stone on embossed lined paper from Springfield, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Stone tells Mary Baker Eddy that he was recently visited by Luther M. Marston, and that he was impressed by Marston. Stone says that he will help Marston all he can to be an effective practitioner of Christian Science. He advised Marston to go to Worcester, Massachusetts, discard all his old beliefs, and that then he could effectively practice Christian Science. Stone had hoped to find some people who would be interested in studying with Eddy, but he has not been successful. He is not discouraged, but he laments the lack of interest in Christian Science in his area.
