My dear Mrs. Eddy,–

YoursEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. just at hand. Don't you have reason to regard your words about malicious mesmerism as affecting your late class prophetic when I inform you that I found my husband sick abed with a raging fever great headacheAs Written:head ache and sore throat – a man who is never ill?

I soothed the fever in a few minutes, completely annihilated the headache As Written: head-ache and backacheAs Written:back-ache, besides driving the pain from one side of the throat; but the other side baffled both Mrs. Berry and myself swelling (in belief) till he nearly choked- Nevertheless I held out against employing an M. D. though hard pressed by all his friends. This is the first day it has abated a jot. Mrs. B. says it is a critical case and if he gets up will score two for MetaphysicalAs Written:M. Science. It threatened a quinsy As Written: quincy sore – indeed everybodyAs Written:every body expected that- But I think it will abate without a breaking and discharging as is expected. I allow no one in his room but myself (much to the discomfiture of many)

Shall I stay to conquer or come to you at once? I can do either but if it is work on the journal you want I can write right here in my husband's room on anythingAs Written:any thing you shall choose (I never write poetry though –

Just the minute they let me up (or him up) on the M. D. business As Written: busines I will appear to you again. Of course that would be this week certainly- But if the business in BostonEditorial Note: Boston, Massachusetts is urgent I can get a nurse for him and come by return train. I give myself and all my time to the Master'sEditorial Note: Jesus Christ work whenever it lies, here, there, or yonder

Mrs. Berry sends love. Her practice increases and she is a wonderful woman
