Accession: 554.58.014
Editorial Title: George C. Klepser to Mary Baker Eddy, December 1, 1883
Author: George C. Klepser
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: December 1, 1883
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by George C. Klepser on lined printed stationery of Kirby, Newbre & Co., from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Editorial Note: The Christian Scientists in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, were expecting Clara E. Choate to visit the area, and Klepser writes that he is very disappointed to learn that Choate will not be coming. Jennie Harvey and friends had made all the preparations necessary for Choate's comfort. Klepser further informs Eddy that when Silas J. Sawyer learned of Choate's upcoming visit, Sawyer felt the visit would injure him, that Sawyer does not uphold Fannie M. Silsbee in her work as a Christian Science healer, and that he would like Christian Science to be conducted in Milwaukee without Silsbee. Klepser admits he could be wrong in his impression that Sawyer is opposed to Choate's visit, and he says that he has always found Sawyer to be an honest man.
