Editorial Note: Caverly thanks Mary Baker Eddy for her gift to him of her book, Science and Health. The book was delivered to Caverly by Hanover P. Smith. Caverly says that Science and Health is beautiful in form and expression and that he has perused it with interest. He
finds that it leads to new thoughts and practices in the healing art. Caverly has
no doubt that the treatment of disease proposed in Science and Health would be a better remedy for many maladies. He closes by thanking Eddy for the gift.
This letter was later printed in an edited form on page 457 of Eddy's book, Miscellaneous Writings 1883-1896.
