My Dear Teacher,

I am very sorry you heard that I misunderstood your adviceAs Written:advise, there was but one person that knew I wrote about entering the Normal Class, and I told her to tell no one, and I do not think she did, and she did not know what answer you wrote me, so whoever told you about it, told that they knew nothing about, and it is not the first time I have been misrepresented to you,

I did tell two ladies I did not like the way Miss Lang took to get her class, there were two of her friends that went to some of my patients to get them to study with Miss Lang. one I was treating for nothing, for I felt she was not able to pay me, and she charged her $50.00Editorial Note: $50.00 in 1887 is the equivalent of $1,650.08 in 2024. while I understand she offered to teach others for nothing to keep them from studying with another Student. SomeoneAs Written:Some one might have heard of that and got them mixed. things do get terribly mixed sometimesAs Written:some times. I do not intend to let anyoneAs Written:any one know my business, or who my patients are, if I can help it, then I know they will not be interfered with. I know they have been saying I did not know how I stood but I think I have shown very plainly where I was, for the first Sabbath As Written: Sabath school we had met with me when no one else was ready to have them.

I have not been to Mr. Gills Monday evening meeting since November, or his Sunday evening since January. My husband said he would not go to hear anyoneAs Written:any one preach that would say a word against Mrs. Eddy-

I went to three of his Monday talks or class, and when I learned that you disapproved of them I did not go again. I have sent in my resignation to the Church clerk, and therefore do not consider myselfAs Written:my self a member, so you see I was one of the first to leave if not the first- Mr. Gill never called on me but once, so I was no favorite of his-

I thought if I went through the Normal Class it would help me in my healing and also help me to talk it– and I was willing to make all the sacrifice I could. I shall probably go up in New HampshireAs Written:N. Hampshire this Summer and it takes some talking to get those interested in ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science that know nothing about it- I did not answer your letter in regard to the class in Obstetricks as I was coming down- and then Mrs. Jones told me you had postponed it. I thought it would be branching off more in a new direction and not so much benefit in the old line.

I have those that are healing and taking care of their families from the instruction they received when under my treatment and the study of Science and HealthEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy– the last not the least–

The most of my healing has been gratuitous. I do not feel like turning a patient away because
