Dear Madam,

I write you in regard to Christian ScienceAs Written:C.S in behalf of Mrs. Bond who is anxious to obtain some instruction. - We have had your booksEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy and also partial light on the subject through. Mrs Morse of LawrenceEditorial Note: Lawrence, Massachusetts and our friends the ShermansEditorial Note: Bradford Sherman, Martha E. Sherman, and Roger Sherman of ChicagoEditorial Note: Chicago, Illinois. Mrs Bond has two patients and doing very well with them. She at the same time feels. that she is no altogether sure of her footing and wants some talk with you about it, I had been very ill for a long time, and unable to attend to any business. and until As Written: untill we took up Christian ScienceAs Written:C.S. could find no relief. now I am glad to say am quite well again and gaining. I have been trying to get ahead enough to enable me to pay for a course for my wife but have been unable to do anything toward it. as I have not been able to render any very valuable service as yet. We live at Lynnfield Centre, and have two patients at Lynn MassachusettsAs Written:Mass. There being 6 in the family and I only getting $10Editorial Note: $10.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $263.56 in 2019. - week you can readily see I can’t As Written: cant get on very fast. We want to take up Christian ScienceAs Written:C.S altogether. but can’t As Written: cant do it of course yet as I have to work to keep on while she tries to build up a practice which is slow work in our out of the way place. Would you be willing to give Mrs Bond some instruction to assure her she is right and let us pay you soon as we can get started, It is no matter what others tell her. She can never be satisfied until As Written: untill she hears it from Mary Baker Eddy herself. and although As Written: altho she has done remarkably well. treating at a distance as she is obliged to do, still I am sure she would do better if all doubt is removed, Awaiting your reply.
