Editorial Note: Calvin A. Frye had apparently written to ask for a letter of dismissal from the Lawrence
Street Congregational Church in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and a recommendation to join
the Church of Christ (Scientist). Joshua Coit, the Pastor of the Church, has met with a church committee about the
matter. They decided to grant him the dismissal, but they cannot recommend his joining
the Church of Christ (Scientist) because it is not a church that they are ready to recognize as in fellowship with
the Congregational Church. Coit hopes that Frye will find in his new church nothing
to undermine his faith in the Bible, God, and the Lord Jesus as his personal Savior.
