Dear Madam: 6
Your work, "Science & HealthEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy," was duly received and I have read the same with much interest. It furnished me a safe harbor and anchored a faith which my reason has compelled me to entertain for many years. As a theology, I am enabled to accept As Written: except it without a question or a doubt
In the other line, where the material senses have so strong a hold, I am unableAs Written:unabled, confidently, to put it into practice.
I can demonstrate somewhat, even with my lack of confidence, but when the cure is effected I am unable to understand how that I could, even as the instrument, have had anything to do with producing the result. This, I think, is partly due to the fact that I do not understand how that mental argument, producing a change in my own mortal belief as to the actuality of any disease, even though I am fully enabled to appreciate its unrealityAs Written:unreallity, can affect As Written: effect another mortal belief, wholly unconscious even of the argument, so as to change it. I know that it does doAs Written:doesdo it by my own demonstration, but how? If I could answer that I shouldAs Written:sh uld proceed with more confidence. Still, I am aware that I could best acquire confidence from the actual demonstrations either of myselfAs Written:my self or others.
I should like very much to takeAs Written:totake a course in your college, if my means would enable me to do so. Will you kindly inform me as to the time it would take me to complete the course and what would be your charge for tuition et ceteraAs Written:&c.
Any other light you might be willing to afford me on the subject would As Written: woulg be gratefully received by,
