Dear Madam;-

I did not intend so soon to supplement my husband's letterEditorial Note: See 543.57.003 but it has so happened that my poor pen would not rest until it had scribbled off the burden of my thoughts in verseEditorial Note: French wrote a poem titled "Touching the Hem of His Garment." She has enclosed a copy in her letter to Mary Baker Eddy for potential publication in The Christian Science Journal. (The manuscript of the poem is not extant, but it was published in the February 1884 issue of the Journal.), and that poor composition I would like to send you for your paper if you think it worthy.

My husband is indeed very earnest in his praises of Christian Science. He reads nothing but your booksEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy and the Bible and we have many pleasant talks about it.

He often reiterates his determination never to be satisfied until he becomes a practitioner of Metaphysics.

I would like to live to see the day when people should no more say "I am sick" though I fear I do not comprehend the Science well enough to help on such a glorious result.

As to the poem if you like it you are more than welcome to it. And believe me

Yours truly
