Seeing your name in a book I was reading and remembering hearing someoneAs Written:some one say that you had written a bookEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy on Mind Cure or Christian Science, I thought I would like to have it but did not know where it could be purchased so I took the liberty to write to you. I am trying to understand this scienceEditorial Note: Christian Science but cannot see my way clear and sometimesAs Written:some times almost wish I had never begun with it, as it has thrown me out of my old way of thinking and doing and haven't As Written: hav'nt enough of the new to satisfy or make me happy it is quite a new thing here Mrs Root from San FranciscoAs Written:San– francisco was here a short time and taught a class or classes. I was one of her pupils and have one of her books but after all I seem to make little headwayAs Written:head way and wish I could find out where the trouble is, it is just what I want and have long wished for something of the kind but never dreamed of having to have such trouble in coming into the understanding of how to let go of the old and take hold of the new way I was not happy as a christian before nor am I now in the new belief how I wish something could make me happy and I so long for a perfect understanding of this new way it seems to me if I rout the devil from one place he seizes me in anotherAs Written:an other and thus it goes

I have attained the age where we are accustomed to think that our brain does not act freely that is one great trouble. being a stranger here I have no one to converse with on the subject
