I called you today to consult you with regard to my son'sAs Written:sons eye – You referred me to Dr. Marston. I went to him, his hours at present are all filled. he expressed a [*]Gap: words.Reason: document tear. to aid me. [?] Unclear or illegible  for a time to see him [*]Gap: words.Reason: document tear. day it would be better to employ someone nearer me.

During the conversation, the thought came to me, suggested by his remarks, that I might take the course of lessons. myself & perhaps be the means of helping my little boy, as well as myself.

He said I think that a reduction was made in the price of the course for those who could not pay & for some, he thought no charges were made.

Will you have the kindness to inform me, if such an indulgence will be extended to me? There is no one, I am sure it would benefit more, or who would be m[*]Gap: letters.Reason: document tear. grateful for such a favor [*]Gap: words.Reason: document tear.

I should consider it [*]Gap: words.Reason: document tear. obligation, I would only be [*]Gap: words.Reason: document tear. to cancel at some time not far distant.

[*]Gap: words.Reason: document tear. it is now a fine estate & yielding considerably, at present I am obliged to curtail expenses to keep it.

If it is possible for one to take the course, will you have the kindness to mention the earliest time it can begin.
