Archival Note: The poem mentioned in this letter, titled "The Devil," was written by Rev. A. J. Hough and is found on pages 4 and 5 of the August 1883
issue of The Christian Science Journal.
Editorial Note: Priest mentions that she was very interested in the copy of The Christian Science Journal she had received the previous August, including a poem titled, "The Devil." She shared her copy with a number of friends and someone failed to return it. She
was waiting to get it back before subscribing, but she doesn't want to wait any longer
and encloses 50 cents ($13.84 in 2017) for a six-month subscription to The Christian Science Journal.
