Dear Mr. & Mrs Bancroft,
I intended to return your calls before this but my time during the day is occupied so entirely I cannot leave them and in the evening I am engaged two nights out of every week and the weather is so uncertain that I seldom get out Mrs. Rice calls on me a half dozen times before I can get in to see her
Now you must not wait for me for I have no time whatever to afford for the etiquette of society but have all the friendship that the world has not for my friends
We have a piano that is very nice toned in the parlor and Mrs ScribnerEditorial Note: Eddy was staying briefly at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Scribner, 7 Broad Street, in Lynn, Massachusetts. is very fond of having people come in and play. I spoke of your playing and singing to them and herself and husband both said why wont you ask her to come down and play when they call I told her I would
Now I will appoint an evening and if it is convenient for you come, and if not drop me a line saying when you can come. Next Thursday evening I should be pleased to see you, that is Mr. Barry's evening for being here.
