My dear Student,

Your kind and good letterEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. just rec'd. Now you have my confidence and sympathy and I had rather be in your place than that of some others who boasting themselves of metaphysics are blind to their lack of spirituality and know not what manner of spirit they are of.

May God give you all you need for this and every other hour, and He will. You are growing and the furnaceEditorial Note: There are numerous references in the Bible to furnaces as representing places of trial but also purification. is where He brings out His image

Fret not thyself because of evil doersPs 37:1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. Prov 24:19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked; they can never get me to believe a lie about you and they get lessons from me every time they tell one, that at least, they ought to remember. Do not grieve dear student I am sad every time I think of your dispirited look at Sabbath. There will come a change for you soon and remember we are never in danger when we are in affliction, we only are in danger from prosperity. Your success in healing will tell the truth of you and shame your enemies if you have any

It was all right about Mr. Curtis I am glad to have you put me on guard as I am so busy I cannot think outside of my labors

Lovingly your Teacher
M B G E

I should have sent you a patient yesterdayEditorial Note: It was often Mary Baker Eddy's practice to refer those asking her for Christian Science treatment through prayer to her students who were in the public practice of Christian Science healing. if I had had your address I will send you the next one that applies
