My dear Sir: --

Accept my thanks for your useful Christmas cardEditorial Note: See 117.22.004 and kind wishes. Each day since the reception thereof I have hoped to respond to it. But this is my first opportunity.

The "interior of Christmas" certainly should unfold to us each year. But I am never satisfied with my Christian growth. I can see increase of knowledge yearly, but do not see the spiritual progress that I need more than all else. But the dear God is merciful, and Life is eternal wherein to gain the goal thereof – and to obey the Divine demand, "Be ye perfectMatt 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. ". How do you like my books, is the " TongueMark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; " familiar to you? Unitarians and I generally agree on most points. "No matter"! is the blow to human reason or the unknown Tongue. But the time comes when we all must know this negation in order to gain positive life or immortality. And to my sense now is the time, and the way to learn it is in and through life, not death.
