My dear student

Please find a brief notice of the address prepared by me for the World's Book of the Parlia– of ReligionsEditorial Note: John Henry Barrows, The History of the World’s Parliament of Religions, 2 vols. (Chicago: Parliament Publishing Company, 1893).. Whatever else of the addreses in Congress by studentsEditorial Note: This is in reference to the World's Parliament of Religions at The World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois. As part of the Parliament events, a Congress of Christian Science was also held, and some of Eddy's students read papers on Christian Science. that you please to insert you can by consent of your Committee.

Now let me ask that you let no one know that I have compiled the above brief extracts and keep them from anyones knowledge until it becomes necessary to give them to the Editor and printer. Also watch and constantly examine that no more abominations in the sight of God relative to the history or the printing of Christian Science go before the people. In the name of God and for His cause I demand this even of you who have been so faithful in many things.

Affectionately
MBG Eddy

Mrs. S. writes me asking if she shall preach in Mrs. Ewings pulpit and rehearse my poem in her sermon? She has published aforetime this poem without my consent and got ready to pub.— my Interpretation of the Lords Prayer but I heard of it in time to prevent it. She does many things in my name that I should object to had I been previously informed of her movement.

Because I may again be misinterpreted to you I enclose my replyEditorial Note: This reply is not extant. to her Please return it to me. I love Mrs. S. and also esteem Mr Eastaman; but they sometimes make mistakes as we all do. I will have a fitting Address prepared by myself ready to be read before the ParliamentEditorial Note: This is in reference to the World's Parliament of Religions at The World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois. and to go into your bookEditorial Note: John Henry Barrows, The History of the World’s Parliament of Religions, 2 vols. (Chicago: Parliament Publishing Company, 1893). But I ask as a favor that you never mention this until it is ready for you MBG Eddy

Again I must insist that you answer me this question Will you send me the page proof of that little article of mine if you decide to put that in the book? My advice is that you ask the editor of said book to say in his work that the Address before Parliament was abridged and only an extract permitted by the Author to appear in the book. Tell the Editor that it is all in my published works and I have so oft refused my students the same request as theirs, viz. to publish portions of my works that I deem it not wise to give them the right to do this. My special reason for decliningAs Written:declin'g to allow this is, God's demand of me not to part the raiment of ChristPs 22:18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. Matt 27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. John 19:23 ¶Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. John 19:24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did. . This from the first of my publishing Christian ScienceAs Written:Chris. Sci. has been a specialty, as I understand, of my mission. Mother.
