Dear Student

I hope you will exercise a better feeling soon. I regret you should have had those heavy books taken down three flights only to have them taken back again. I wish you to return a full account of the books on hand when you took the publishingEditorial Note: Eddy had put Spofford in charge of the sales of her book, Science and Health., also how many have since been sold, how much money you have taken for them etc etc

I expect you will come to see your teacher the same as my other students do, that you will act in reference to the cause and not the teacher, and thus show yourself worthy the high trust we have committed As Written: comitted to you

I have done what I deem the best thing that could be done under the circumstances, and feel sure I can teach my husband up to a higher usefulness As Written: usefullness , to purity, and the higher development As Written: developement of all his latent noble qualities of head and heart.

Hoping you will be blessed in well doing I am as ever.

Your Teacher
