Dear Mrs. Rand,

I have taken your case into serious consideration and find it is my duty perhaps to take you into this classEditorial Note: The class began on August 15, 1882. Laura A. Rand did not study with Mary Baker Eddy until March 1883.. You need the light that will lead you onEditorial Note: This may be a reference to the words of a hymn, “Lead, Kindly Light,” written in 1833 by John Henry Newman. Its original title was “The Pillar of Cloud.” and the opportunity As Written: oppertunity to come to my private lectures My next classEditorial Note: Mary Baker Eddy’s next class was in October 1882. has too many in it for another one if all come and we cannot boast ourselves of tomorrowProv 27:1 Boast not thyself of to-morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. James 4:13 Go to now, ye that say, To-day or to-morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. James 4:15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. James 4:16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. Because my notice is so short I will wait for your tuition a few days
