My dear Teacher –

Have been so rushed that have not had chance to acknowledge the nice picture– which was such a pleasant surprise – I appreciate it deeply & it shall have the choicest place in home and heart-

The babiesEditorial Note: Elsie N. Bell and Daisy M. Bell kissed it and Mr. Bell admired it and we all in turn gave it a cordial greeting – When work presses hard in ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science to look at the encouraging face gives me strength to press on – Mr– Adams called with good news from his wife – Said when he arrived he found the night sweats broken up lungs better – but was weak and discouraged – The attack was the most vicious I ever knew – but God is all & thanks be to His name Truth has silenced the error – I have been as busy as a bee since the dawning of the New YearAs Written:New-Year. My class finished and they already report good demonstrations– They will all spend every Monday afternoon with me to strive to seek other gems from the fount that is inexhaustible As Written: inexaustable – They are all very spiritual ladies As Written: lady's had been tryed in the "balance and not found wanting"Dan 5:27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. so I think can trust them to go on, and as I told them the name of our boat should be "good" and the name of our oars should be "safety," and we should go forth on the billows and plough the waves – keeping our compass pointing toward As Written: to-ward the shores of peace and with determined purpose, we should go on laying off our Saul for our PaulActs 13:9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, and in the great somethingnessAs Written:something ness of the realm everlastingAs Written:ever lasting, we too shall awake with His likenessPs 17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. & know it is there we have always been sheltered– I fear I am growing impatient for the strife to be over– and I felt this morning to talk down the argument that seemingly keeps us from a full realization – and I felt they cannot hinder me from bringing in my sheavesPs 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. or weaving my straws into the bulwarks As Written: bulwarks of sin – I have an Episcopalian Minister for a patient – He is getting well – very interested – I made him a present of a book – he is very quizzical As Written: quizical but does not antagonize– When I answered his questions to the best of my ability – he looked at me like he thought I was a curiosity out of Barnums MuseumEditorial Note: This is a reference to “Barnum’s American Museum,” owned by P. T. Barnum and located in New York City from 1841 to 1865. The museum offered both strange attractions and others that were legitimately educational.– Why – said he you quote scripture with an entirely new light – I said yes everythingAs Written:every thing is to be new – a new language – a new nameIsa 62:2 And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name. Rev 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. – a new tongueMark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; – &c & so on –
