My beloved Teacher

Received your very precious and most welcome letterEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. some days ago but delayed answering so that I could acknowledge the receipt of the CharterEditorial Note: Probably the charter for the Oconto, Wisconsin Christian Scientist Association, a branch of the Christian Scientist Association in Boston, Massachusetts. which did not arrive till yesterday; it is very beautiful and many, many thanks from each student for your kindness. The pathos of your letter touched my heart; dear little "Mother in Israel"Judg 5:7 The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel. I was convinced long ago that this earth is not worthy of youHeb 11:36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: Heb 11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; Heb 11:38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. . We could not spare you now dear one we need your loving words of wisdom and good counsel that we may be imbued with that Spirit that gives "His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways"Ps 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. ; we realize only too well that we cannotAs Written:can not take the Letter without the SpiritII Cor 3:4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: II Cor 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; II Cor 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. we must have the Spirit for without it we can do nothingJohn 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. . Far be it from us to add one drop to your cupMatt 20:20 ¶Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him. Matt 20:21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. Matt 20:22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. Matt 20:23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father. already filled by those who are unwilling to meet the obligations of Christian Science in its demand for perfect self-denial, patience and charity for one another especially for those "who know not what they do"Luke 23:33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Luke 23:34 ¶Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. . We have our little meetings and exhort each other to good worksHeb 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: and patience and are like one family dwelling together in brotherly love; but such a struggle as we have against error (in belief) in this place. The most of this opposition comes through the Pastor of the church of which we were members, he is the one who wrote the article for the "Interior" signed "Orthodox" (in belief) Yesterday he sent us a notice that we were to be "suspended from the communion of that church" till we gave "satisfactory evidence of the sincerity of our repentance" and closed his letter with these words "May Almighty God have mercy upon you and bring you back by repentance to loyalty to Him and His cause". Now is not this just what God has done in bringing me to our blessed faith in Christian ScienceAs Written:C.S well I laughed when I read and was just as happy as before he sent it. Why we have got way above such trifles as that. You see dear we could not conscientiously give our support to one who spoke so against the Truth not to speak of the forms of the church so we quietly stayed at home and this is the cause of the commotionAs Written:commoiton. We have had to work hard for Miss Beyer and still those old stubborn beliefs continue in belief and now we want to ask if you will not please have one of the most competent students thereEditorial Note: Boston, Massachusetts take her case for a while and we students here will gladly pay all charges. we would not ask this if we did not deem if necessary to act at once. You know she was one of Mrs. Silsbee’s patients; she is very anxious to sit through a class at the College but did not have the means to defray expenses but we have contributed the amountAs Written:amt. so she will go your next class and Mrs Millidge and I think several others from here will go with her. Well dear Teacher I must say "good night" it is almost eleven o'clock and may the dear "Christ" who never slumbers or sleeps keep our heartsPs 121:2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. Ps 121:3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Ps 121:4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. in the bond of love.

With love from every student

Your loving child
