Editorial Note: Much of this letter is concerned with Sawyer telling Mary Baker Eddy of the mesmeric attacks of the mental malpractitioners, Edward J. Arens and Richard Kennedy. Sawyer and his wife, Jennie E. Sawyer, have their hands full defending themselves against the persistent attacks of these individuals. Sawyer includes in his letter his views on other students of Christian Science in the area, including Mrs. L. E. Gibson, Caroline D. Noyes and Bradford Sherman, Martha E. Sherman, and Roger Sherman.
