My most esteemed Teacher I have been trying for several days to get time to write to you & I find I can never have time unless I take time. My Brother was here a few minutes ago & wanted me to go to a Horse Sale with him I said no I am busy I can't As Written: cant go & as soon as he left I got my paper & began to write to you. I was surprised when he wrote to me for help & was more so when I got your letterEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. stating he hadn't As Written: hadent paid his last tuition. I offered to loaAs Written:en him money last fall is the reason he called on me at this time I was not at allAs Written:atall prepared to loan As Written: lone him money at this time but rather than disappoint him & for you to have trouble with him, I borrowed the money & Sent him a draft on N. york I hope you got it or its As Written: ist equivalent As Written: acquivalent I saw Mrs Fluno yesterday & Two of her patients & one of them is a student now & a good one Mrs Masters of Nicholasville As Written: Nickolasville Ky. Mrs F. & Babe. are looking well, The Babe is growing very fast

Sister & I are Studying together & have as many patients as we can handle just now, We have one in St. Joseph MissouriAs Written:Mo with a belief of Cancer As Written: Cansor on the side of his face. He told me he had been to New YorkAs Written:Newyork to the best Doctors As Written: Dr,s he could hear of & one of them put something on his face & it eat out a large plug & he has it at home now but the belief come back in the same place. He said He met a Man on the Case in IllinoisAs Written:Ill. & He told him to come to me. I thought I would be scared half to death if anyoneAs Written:any one come to me with Such a belief but I said yes I would take the Case & told him what I wanted him to do.. I told him after being with him a while that I had been dissecting As Written: desecting his case & I saw has belief come from some belief Some time back. He said yes as far back as 1848, So I know it a belief of Syphilitic As Written: Sifalitic Cancer As Written: Cansor He left & went home the next day but has been writing to me regular. His last letter stated his face hadn't As Written: hadent swollen As Written: swolen any since I saw him & there was not as much flow from it & it seemed to draw on the outsideAs Written:out side & kept up a continual itching He says the pain is not so severe as it was. He wrote As Written: wrte before his head pained very bad as well as his face & I wrote him I was treating him as hard as I could & if he couldn't As Written: couldent stand it I would slack off some He says no go on He will stand it He wants to get well So bad. I think from the way he writes He is in better spirits than he has been for a long time. Hope you will excuse me for writing so much about one of my patients, I am very anxious about him. I want to See As Written: Se his face Smooth again like it used to be & I believe you will give me a thought So as to help me on with the work we have Several hard cases in belief but don't As Written: dont back down. we are looking & not back.
