My Dear Madam: —

Please give me the price of your booksEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy at retail, and also the discount made to teachers and publishers. I am just beginning as a practitioner of the Mind Cure, and am also preparing to teach it, and shall want to get your works for my pupils. I have an order for you to fill as soon as I hear from you as to prices. Also your price for “Journal of Christian Science,” per year, to a club, or to me for members of my class.

What course of study, outside of your own books and teachings, do you require at your college, and do you admit students for examination who have prepared themselves by private study at home, if so, what are your terms for graduating them and for conferring the degree of C.S.?

I am desirous to be very thorough and competent as a teacher as well as successful as a practitioner, and would like to have fitted myself wholly at your college, but I cannot make it convenient to do more than to come to you for the finishing part of the preparation, and would like to graduate from your institution if you receive students or such purpose.

I am accustomed to teaching and to writing for the press, as my life so far has been spent in such work.

I am very enthusiastic over this discovery of yoursEditorial Note: Christian Science, and feel that I can do much good with it. I rejoice over the fact that a woman discovered to the world what the great Christian Church throughout all these nineteen hundred years has failed to understand, — the practical application of the divine method or principle of curing disease as practiced As Written: practised and taught by Christ. With Christ’s whole teaching carried out, we can begin to see how the regeneration of the world can be affected As Written: effected

Handshift:Alvesta C. Scott-BrowneAs before, with only part of Christ’s works understood and taught, the regeneration of the World was an impossibility. Now the way is clear. Every missionary in all lands with this added knowledge will more than double his good work. Doctors of Medicine will never lose patients, and people will die a riper old age, — a natural, painless passing away, as God intended.

Very respectfully yours,
