My dear Mrs Eddy

I feel that I ought to claim an interest in my behalf although As Written: altho' I was not led in the way of receiving instruction at your hands but of those whom you have taught – Mr Bradford Sherman and Mrs Emma Hopkins— I would have been glad to have heard the words of truth from your own lips but that was impossible - so I gladly and thankfully accepted the opportunity of being taught by these earnest champions – I've been able to demonstrate the truth of Christian Science and have been quite busy in Albany this Winter – I have recently met Mrs Leavitt here and she has quite inspired me with a wish to see you –

I do mostly earnestly desire to look upon the face of one through whom such blessings have come to me - should I go to BostonEditorial Note: Boston, Massachusetts before I return to the West — which will be within two weeks could I hope to see you – My friend also Mrs Delavan may be with me - My daughter married a brother of Mrs Dr. Gordon and we are hoping to convert them to your faith - A niece also of Dr Gordon- Miss Isabel Hill - daughter of Ex Senator HillEditorial Note: N. P. (Nathaniel Peter) Hill (1832-1900) was a mining executive and engineer who later served as a United States Senator from Colorado from 1879-1885. is an enthusiastic follower and admirer of Christian Science – her case was one of the first undertaken by me - I will not ask for a reply but shall hope to have the pleasure of an interview with you–

Respectfully
Mary J. Butler
