Dear Brother

I have been meaning to answer your letterEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. for some time but so many things come up each day to prevent my writing; and to tell the plain truth I dislike writing very much indeed. Mrs Allen is the Mother of the girl who was healed in Christian Science of Tumor; she is much interested in the work and has been for a long time. You asked about the cost of my Charter; the cost is one hundred dollarsEditorial Note: 100.00; but through Dr Sawyer Mrs Lathrop and myself got ours at quite a reduction; the Lawyer being a friend of his; Dr Sawyer charged nothing for his time; he has done a great deal for us since Christian Science As Written: Sience has been started both in New York and here. I want someoneAs Written:some one to take my place here for about three weeks very much indeed to go and teach a Class and start the work in a place where it is scarcely known; will you write me of someoneAs Written:some one whom As Written: whome you could recommend As Written: recomend ; I want none but firm Christian Scientists; the battle here is a hard one; Mind Cure has gained ground in nearly all the first families, also the ones who have money to pay for teaching; still I am gaining ground and teaching those who are anxious to know the truth, also to work for the same, and am obliged to wait for my pay; but this I am willing to do if the work of our dear MasterEditorial Note: Jesus Christ can be carried on; it must As Written: muste and shall be; there is no if in the matter with me; Plant and Water is my work; God alone can give the increaseI Cor 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. ; I teach, and practice, keep close watch of my Students, hold weekly meetings for all who choose to come; go out also and invite many; last Thursday I had six of the Mind Cure here I found out; what do you think about that? Write me as often as you can; I often feel alone and almost As Written: almoste forsaken by mortals, but always realize that God is with me always.

Will you please send ten Copies of the December Journal for sample copies; many As Written: meny are writing and asking me to send one.
