My dear Mrs Eddy

I do not wish to intrude on your valuable time, neither do I wish to be misunderstood in regard to what I have written about the price of your booksEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, neither did I wish to convey As Written: envey the idea that you should be governed As Written: govend by Mr Evans prices, but I simply wished to know As Written: knw if there could not have been a mistake in regard to the price, or included the Express, when the bill to me was so different from what it was to others, Mr Bosworth, & Mrs Thompson here & to Mrs Leavitt, I sent for 12 copies As Written: coppies & wish they might all have been sent, as they would nearly, if not all been sold now & the Express, would have been but $125Editorial Note: $125.00 in 1887 is the equivalent of $4,125.20 in 2024. on all by the U.S. Express, The six were sold at once, but one having a defect in the binding was returned. What shall I do with it? Sell it at a discountAs Written: discont , or return it?

Now My dear Mrs Eddy I do regret troubling you with so small an affair but thought As Written: thoght it best, as I do not wish to be misunderstood in any way. I am truly your friend & a firm believer in the ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science as explained by you, & recommend your books to all, Many who understand As Written: understnd the science quite well as taught by you, are anxious that I should teach, but I consider myselfAs Written:my self wholly As Written: wholy unprepared, but hope another year to go to you & go through your normal class.

I heard Mrs French when she was here, & was very glad to hear directly from you through her.

Her class meet at my rooms every week & Mrs R. L. Pratt the lady who wrote you & received a replyEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. from you, is my warmest friend, a patient & among As Written: anong the number who desire me to teach & considers that there is not a lady here who so clearly understands the Science as I do.

I simply state this that you may know how I stand here.

I will send the money for the six copies As Written: coppies as soon as I hear what to do with the imperfect one. I should like more, also copies As Written: coppies of Christian Science & the Bible if you wish to send them to me at the rates they are sent to others, otherwise I do not care to take the responsibility of them.
