Mrs. Eddy explained the 12th, and a part of the 13th chapters of RevelationsEditorial Note: The Book of Revelation in the New Testament., this afternoon to the students at the college. There were present beside Mrs Eddy, Miss Bartlett, Dr. Stone, Drs Marston and Frye. She said that it applied to this hour. Like the first and second chapters of Genesis these chapters contain the statements of scienceEditorial Note: Christian Science and its opposite statement of error.

There are two angels named in the Bible. “Gabriel” who is always in the presence of God, God’s idea, a perfect man, and “Michael” who marshals the hosts to wage war with error, presiding over holy wars, “ Michael, and his angels fought against the dragonRev 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, Rev 12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. ”.

She said “there are two ways to meet the claims of sin (or the dragon) one way to “take it up” as Moses did the serpentJohn 3:14 ¶And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: , oppose it and beat it back, saying “ thus far shalt thou go and no fartherJob 38:11 And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed? ”making a separation through scienceEditorial Note: Christian Science; the other way is by meeting a belief with a belief, which would be fighting on their own ground.

We must recognize the claims of error and oppose it or we are in danger of being blinded by it and becoming its victim.
