Dear Son,

Yours just received.Editorial Note: This is a reference to George W. Glover's letter to Mary Baker Eddy dated April 24, 1881 (197.32.008). I regret that you have made another failure in your mining operations. I have never heard a word from the four hundred dollarsEditorial Note: $400 in 1881 is the equivalent of $10,091.83 in 2016. I gave you did you lose it? I have not a dollar only what I have earned my expenses are great and no one to give me a single copper or assist to meet the expenses even of my family. My husband has not earned a dollar to my knowledge since you were here. I wish you would come here and take his farm he gets very little rent for it and the railroad is built within two miles of that large farm so you see with the labor you are expending on rocks you could make the soil give you a good living and the farm is yours then That is a safe return for work.

I have no idea you will ever do anything at miningAs Written:min'g it needs capital or a man that is sharp and attends to nothing but the interest and speculations of mining to do anything to advantage

As your wife says much has gone into those mines but what has come out of them?
