My dear Student,

and "own child"__YoursEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. came duly. I was glad to have a line from you and especially so to hear of the dream breaking and the reality appearing in the case of your brother.

The cases you named as more obstinate I hope have yielded before this and you have learned time will conquer all error. Do not forget to be strong in the clear consciousness that you are able to heal and no counter mind can make you weak for a moment through fear or a lack of confidence in your power, or rather understanding.

Remember God, Truth, is the healer the balm in Gilead and our only PhysicianJer 8:22 Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered? and can never be insufficient As Written: insufficent for all things

You will find at first cases that seem defiant, but all is mind, they yield at last the same as a cherished malice or envy, they fall at length before Truth and that is the end of them. Some individuals yield more slowly if it is a moral questionEditorial Note: Mary Baker Eddy writes on page 419 of the current edition of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: "A moral question may hinder the recovery of the sick. Lurking error, lust, envy, revenge, malice, or hate will perpetuate or even create the belief in disease." that separates them from the light that destroys darkness; to such, use the arguments that hit the mark and it will destroy the disease.

Sometimes things very remote from what would seem the cause are what hold the patient from recovery. But remember the words of our Master MetaphysicianEditorial Note: Jesus Christ"verily I say unto you ye shall not have gone over all Israel until some shall be saved"Matt 10:23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. —In other words, ye shall not have spoken unto all their beliefs until some shall yield up the ghostMatt 27:50 ¶Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. Mark 15:37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. Luke 23:46 ¶And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. .

I have not heard from dear Mrs. C. or Mr. S. since the classEditorial Note: This is a reference to the class taught by Mary Baker Eddy, beginning at the end of September 1880. It had three members: Julia S. Bartlett, Ellen Latham Clark, and H. E. Stone., have you? I am hoping to hear soon, and good news of course. My husband desires to be remembered, and I will close for this time with much love from your
